Headaches and facial pain

If you suffer from migraines, general headaches or facial pain, acupuncture can often be a positive treatment option. I will discuss with you the type of pain you experience and any accompanying symptoms in order to understand how this affects your life.

Reducing eye pain

In clinical practice, I have often observed good effects when treating pain that affects the eye. This may be due to an eye condition or an associated symptom of headaches. Please note, where necessary, I may advise you seek the professional guidance of an optician if an eye test or assessment is deemed appropriate.

ENT (ear, nose & throat)

Acupuncture may be helpful for patients who experience symptoms such as ear pain, loss of smell, blocked or runny nose, sneezing, coughing or an itchy throat.

Sinus Problems
I have had sinus problems for the past few years and after recovering from a virus last year I had lost my sense of smell and taste as well. Within just a few weeks of seeing Louise, I could smell and taste again. I appreciate all the self care advice I get too and Louise goes above and beyond in trying to help. Thank you so much
Eye pain
I’ve had eye problems since 2011. Eventually, I was diagnosed with uveitis, an inflammatory condition. This had been neglected so long, it had caused macular oedema and also caused the lens in one eye to stick to the retina. I was rapidly losing sight in my right eye. This was successfully treated with steroids but, unfortunately the condition has become chronic. Since then, I’ve had surgery for detached retina and cataracts. I’ve also developed glaucoma in both eyes. Thankfully, my condition is managed by a variety of eye drops and vision is good in both eyes. However, throughout medical treatment, I was unable to get rid of the pain in the muscles around my eyes until I went to Louise. After a few sessions of acupuncture, I was virtually pain free. Louise has been marvellous, she uses special fine needles in my face which don’t hurt and I attend for a booster every 5 weeks. Without acupuncture, close work brings on pain around my eyes, head and face, it’s like the whole area is in spasm. I’m an artist and now able to paint again (Joy). Thank you Louise for your professionalism, knowledge, compassion and attention to detail, it has changed my life.
Trigeminal neuralgia
I had been told by my dentist that the severe persistent pain around my jaw, tooth and into my temple was trigeminal neuralgia and the pain never really subsided with painkillers at all. I turned to Louise and she was confident that she could treat it. After only one treatment the pain, which I had endured for almost three months, had not only eased but had disappeared completely. I still find it unbelievable and I would not hesitate to recommend the professional and effective treatment given by Louise. Her approach to treating any patient is thorough and always targeted to their needs.
